Call for Abstracts/Presenters

Men’scapes is a one day gathering for cis and trans gay, bi, two-spirit, and queer men (GBMSM) from across Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands to come together and learn from each other.

Accessibility can look completely different for different folks. Some of us need help navigating access to healthcare, mental healthcare, and social networks. While for some us, when we think about accessibility, we may have more practical needs, like; ‘can I get into this event?’

We are searching for story tellers, dreamers, thinkers, performers, academics, Elders, rabble-rousers, and veterans of queer men’s experiences to share your expertise. No previous presenting experience necessary, just your own rich lives, and a desire to help other GBMSM navigate access! If you have a story you want to tell, experiences to share, a lesson learned, or a topic you are passionate about- we want to support you to share it!

Abstract Submissions: Max 300 word description of presentation/workshop topic. Please provide a list of resources and supplies needed.  Presentations can be 20-90 minutes, so please specify desired length. Include your name, contact email, and phone number in your submission.  Submissions can be sent to jonathan.degenhardt@avi.org.

Submission Deadline EXTENDED! Monday March 11th 2019 at 4pm. Please note. Space is limited so do not wait to submit your abstract!
