Join us on Tuesday, November 28th, from 4:30 to 6pm for AVI’s Annual General Meeting. The event will feature presentations from AVI staff and clients from across Vancouver Island.
This event is being hosted on the territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən-speaking (Lekwungen) people of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We express our sincere gratitude for the ability to live and work on these lands. We acknowledge the historic and ongoing link between colonization and the war on people who use drugs on the land commonly referred to as “Canada”, and the disproportionate impact of criminalization, the overdose crisis, hepatitis C, and HIV/AIDS on Indigenous peoples as an ongoing impact of colonization.
- The event will be held virtually, through Zoom. You can attend by internet or phone.
- The Zoom link will be sent out via Eventbrite 24 hours and 1 hour before the AGM.
- We use a live auto captioning service called Rev. To access this service, Zoom “livestreams” the audio to the Rev site for live, automated captioning. So you will be notified when you tune into the meeting that it is being livestreamed. We will not be livestreaming to social media or anything like that, just for the captions, so there is no need to worry about that.
- On Zoom, there is the option to turn off your camera and set your name to something anonymous.
If you have any accessibility needs, please let us know by emailing clare.pepper@avi.org
