Testing, counseling, and support accessing services

People who are living with HIV, AIDS, or hepatitis C deserve access to safe, accessible, non-judgmental medical services. AVI’s staff have training and experience in the unique health needs associated with HIV, AIDS, and hepatitis C. 

Victoria

  • Care coordination 
  • Nutrition program 
  • Short-term counseling 
  • Advocacy & support (income assistance, health care, housing, etc.) 
  • Education & support on treatment, side effects, and nutrition 
  • Support to access HIV and HCV testing 
  • Referrals to HIV and HepC care.  
  • Non-judgmental support and a safe space 
  • Monday to Friday 10:00am-4:00pm

Nanaimo

  • Primary care for people living with HIV
  • Treatment for people living with hepatitis C
  • Care coordination and nursing support
  • Access to PrEP and PEP
  • Short-term counseling
  • Advocacy & support (income assistance, health care, housing, etc.)
  • Education & support on treatment, side effects, and nutrition
  • Onsite HIV and HCV testing
  • Non-judgmental support and a safe space
  • Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-5:00pm

Courtenay/Comox Valley

  • Short-term, solution-focused counseling 
  • Advocacy and support with income assistance, health care services, employment, housing, disability status applications and legal matters 
  • Assistance in obtaining legal identification  
  • Education and support for treatment, side effects, nutrition and symptoms 
  • Access to HIV and HCV testing 
  • Public Health Nurse onsite monthly with access to Seasonal flu vaccines, COVID vaccines, and STI testing 
  • Doctor onsite weekly 
  • Hours: 9:00am-4:00pm (closure from 12:00-1:00pm) Monday-Thursday, 11:00am-3:00pm Friday Closed Saturday and Sunday.

Campbell River

  • Short-term, solution-focused counseling
