SUPERVISOR: Manager- Positive Wellness Program

JOB SUMMARY

The Positive Wellness Program supports members of our community who are living with HIV and who may be co-infected with Hepatitis C. Support is offered through advocacy and counseling, and referrals to other services available in the community. The Positive Wellness Program offers a daily (Monday-Friday) drop-in space and serves approximately 40 hot lunches per day to HIV positive individuals.

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of the Positive Wellness Program or designate, the Positive Wellness Cook will plan and prepare a daily hot lunch for Positive Wellness members living with HIV.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Plan, prepare and cook a weekly menu of nutritious, hot lunches for HIV positive program members.

2. Maintain a clean and safe work space at all times, including food storage areas and kitchen.

3. Complete and maintain related records and documentation for submission to the Manager.

4. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager of the Positive Wellness Program or their designate.

QUALIFICATIONS

FOODSAFE Level 1.

Experience preparing and cooking nutritious food for 40 people or more.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Demonstrated knowledge of safe food preparation.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated understanding of the specific nutritional needs for living well with HIV/AIDS.
• Working knowledge of the issues surrounding addiction, mental health and communicable diseases.
• Experience working with marginalized groups preferred.
