Claire Dineen, Health Promotion Educator

I have been with AVI since March 1994: for the first 6+ years as Coordinator
of SOS, then as Interim Executive Director in Victoria. In December 2000, I
moved up Island and took the position of Health Promotion Educator in our
Nanaimo office. Since 1990 I have worked with a variety of at-risk
populations in Toronto, Victoria, and, now, the central region of Vancouver
Island.
My work is influenced by Marxist-feminism, integrating issues of class, gender, race and sexuality, and the belief that the 'personal is political'. I have an Honours B.A. in Anthropology & Women's Studies.
