Sex with transvestite - HIV Risk

Hello,
I recently had sex with a transvestite that had clearly undergone a sex change operation.
The thing is that at first I didn't realise it was a transvestite, it was only after penetration (front) that I did realise that something was different as the sensation was very different from entering a vagina.
I didn't manage to keep an erection and then I started masturbating to finish off and leave and that was the point where the condom broke. After carefully removing the condom I continued masturbating trying not to touch the upper part of my penis(glans). After I finished I had a thorough wash of my penis and hands with handtowels first and then antibacterial soap (after an hour).
Am I at risk of HIV now??

Thanks for your question. There is no risk to you or the other person unless there was blood involved and access for that blood to get into the blood stream of the other person.
FYI the term "transvestite" is not used much anymore. Those of us that identify as trans (an umbrella term) which most of the time includes folks that call themselves transsexual or transgender prefer these terms over the old one. They speak more to our experience.
One of the things I have found hurtful over the years is being called "it". I would much prefer if folks don't know my gender instead of guessing or neuturing me to just to politely ask if I prefer male or female pronouns. Just some stuff I thought I would let you know about.
Finally, there is no greater or lesser risk of getting HIV with a Trans person.
