AVI Service Updates – (June 1, 2020)

Victoria
  • Harm reduction and OPS services are open at the Travelodge and Comfort Inn sheltering sites. We continue to advocate for a publicly accessible site
  • Daytime harm reduction being provided through delivery downstairs and through outreach
  • Outreach support being provided to PWP clients with meal and other delivery 3 days/week ; phone and email support continues for clients
  • Education staff working on delivering on-line workshops and supporting education at the sheltering sites as well as assisting in above areas
 
Nanaimo
  • Most visits by phone or telehealth with more and more clients coming into the office
  • HIV primary care visits by nurse and physician over telehealth (also OAT patients)
  • Nurse dispensing PrEP and other medications at the office using SD measures
  • PWP is providing support via outreach, phone and email
  • Education is supporting peers to access harm reduction supplies for distribution
 
Courtenay
  • OPS and harm reduction distribution continue to be open
  • PWP offered through phone an email and limited in-person support
  • Outreach to community is continuing
 
Campbell River
  • OPS and harm reduction distribution continuing at the office with the OPS closing on June 30th.
  • PWP offered via phone/email and outreach
 
Westshore
  • Majority of visits by phone or telehealth with some clients attending the office
  • Connecting with clients via phone or email and linking people through outreach directly
  • Mobile operating as usual
  • Expanded outreach to Sooke at the sheltering sites for harm reduction, nursing care and connection to clinic
